In the last 24 hours until 8am on 11 April, two people have died from measles in Bangladesh—one confirmed case and one suspected case, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same time, 888 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country. Among them, 80 cases were confirmed as measles through laboratory tests.
So far this year, at least 24 children have died from confirmed measles infections. In addition, 145 children have died with symptoms similar to measles.
DGHS data also shows that from 15 March to 11 April, a total of 2,489 measles cases have been confirmed in laboratories.
Overall, 14,385 suspected measles cases have been reported across the country, and 9,463 patients have already recovered after receiving Treatment.
