The Department of National Consumer Rights Protection, under the overall supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, is working to ensure the availability of products and safe food at fair prices. In this regard, under the leadership of Md Shafiqul Islam, assistant director of Moulvibazar District Office of the Directorate General of National Consumer Rights Protection, awareness activities were conducted at different places including Munshibazar of Moulvibazar Rajnagar upazila on Sunday, October 6.

During the inspection drive, a fine of Tk 3,000 was imposed on Maya Enterprise, Tk 4,000 on Lulu Mia Store and Tk 7,000 on Sakil Enterprise for selling expired food products, not displaying the price list in a visible place, not mentioning the production date, expiry date and price on the packaged products.

In today's drive, a total of 3 institutions were fined and collected a total of Tk 14,000.
