Three people were killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi on Monday morning.
The accident happened around 7:00 am in Chandipur, in front of the house of Hazrat Ali. A CNG autorickshaw crashed head-on with a three-wheeler, locally known as a Bhotbhoti.
According to Bagha Police Station Officer-in-Charge Serajul Haque, the CNG driver Shariful Islam from Naopara village in Lalpur was taking four passengers to Bagha when the accident occurred.
Shariful Islam died on the spot along with two passengers, Bidhan Das and Rokena Begum, who were residents of villages in the same upazila.
Two others, Rokena Begum’s son Shahajan Ali and Seema Begum, were injured in the crash. They were first taken to the Upazila Health Complex and later admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Police have taken the bodies of the victims and the damaged vehicles to the police station.
