The price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder has increased by Tk 212, making the new price Tk 1,940. This is the second price hike within one month.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission announced the new price on Sunday, which will be effective from 6 pm.

The price of auto-gas, used in vehicles, has also gone up by Tk 9.73 per litre, rising to Tk 89.50 from Tk 79.77.

Earlier, in March, the price of a 12-kg LPG cylinder was Tk 1,341. At the start of April, it increased by Tk 387 to Tk 1,728. According to BERC, the latest price hike is due to higher shipping costs caused by the ongoing war in the Middle East.
