All Classes and Exams at DU Suspended from March 9

All classes and examinations at University of Dhaka will remain suspended from Monday (March 9) until the Eid al-Fitr holidays, following instructions from the Ministry of Education.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university on Sunday night (March 8).

According to university sources, the emergency meeting of the Syndicate Management Team (SMT) was held under the chairmanship of Niaz Ahmed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka.

During the meeting, members held detailed discussions on the government’s issued notification and a letter sent by the University Grants Commission. After the discussion, the decision to suspend academic activities was finalized.

According to the meeting’s decision, all academic activities of the university will remain suspended from Monday (March 9) to March 28 following the directive of the Ministry of Education. However, despite the suspension of academic activities, university offices will remain open as usual on March 9.

The university authorities also stated that detailed information about how administrative activities will continue after March 9 and whether the offices will remain open will be announced tomorrow.
