Bangladesh Seeks India’s Help in Hadi Murder Case

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam said Bangladesh is hopeful that India will cooperate in the investigation of the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.
Speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, she said Bangladesh is waiting for consular access to the suspects arrested in Kolkata. After getting access, authorities will be able to investigate further and provide detailed information.
She also said the process of getting consular access is currently ongoing.
Earlier, Bangladesh requested access to two main suspects arrested in connection with the case. Later, the West Bengal Police Special Task Force detained another person named Philip Sangma, who is accused of helping the suspects escape after the murder.
The minister said Bangladesh is in regular contact with Indian authorities and is trying to bring the suspects back to the country. The Ministry of Home Affairs Bangladesh is also working on this matter.
