Earthquake tremors were felt in Dhaka and several other parts of Bangladesh at around 11:37pm on Sunday.
According to Assistant Meteorologist Farzana Sultana of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale and originated in Bhutan.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) also reported that the earthquake’s epicentre was located about 28 kilometres northeast of Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were received.
