A free health camp was held in Rajnagar Upazila of Moulvibazar on Saturday (11 June) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to ensure healthcare services for women and children.
The camp was organized through a joint initiative of icddr,b (Cholera Hospital, Mohakhali) and Standard Chartered Bank, with support from Medical and overall management by the Utsarga Foundation. The event took place at the premises of Bimala Charan High School in Choab Ali Bazar, Uttarbhag Union.
Among those present were the school’s Acting Head Teacher Md. Mizanur Rahman, Public Health Researcher Shah Shabbir, as well as Jewel, Sourav, Kasem Ali (Teacher), Raju Ahmed (Teacher), and many others.
According to the organizers, more than 300 women and children received healthcare services during the day-long camp. Participants were provided with free health check-ups, consultations from specialist doctors, and necessary medicines. Pregnant women also received guidance on maternal health and nutrition.
In addition, the camp offered blood pressure (BP) screening, diabetes testing, hemoglobin testing, blood group determination, distribution of essential medicines, and specialized medical services for children.
