Moulvibazar 250-bed hospital deputy director (administrator) Perth Sarathi Kanungo has been promoted to director of the Department of Medical Education. This accomplished masterpiece of Rajnagar is known to all as the ‘Doctor of the Poor’. His home is in Dattagram of Rajnagar Upazila.

Dr. confirmed the matter. Perth Sarathi Kanungo said, he was promoted to director of the Department of Medical Education in Dhaka’s Mohakhali. He joined the new workplace on June 30.

Everyone knows him as a ‘Doctor of the Poor’ of this Upazila since he entered the working life. Who gave how many ‘doctor’s fees’ was never the main thing for him. He took as much as they gave. Sometimes, if a patient is incapacitated, he has given him medicine or money from his own pocket. Ordinary people wait for the disease to show him.

His younger brother Dr. Siddhartha Shankar Dutto is also the ‘doctor of the poor’ of this Upazila. He is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology and Sex at Osmani Medical College Hospital, Sylhet.
