Dr. Nizam Ahmed Chowdhury has officially assumed the position of Chairman of the historic Aftab Uddin High School, located in Kazirbazar under Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. He formally took charge of his responsibilities on Sunday (14 June).

Dr. Nizam Ahmed Chowdhury serves as the Registrar of the Department of Pediatrics at Sylhet Women’s Medical College and Hospital and is also a Director of Sylhet Imperial Hospital.

Established in 1973, Aftab Uddin High School is one of the oldest educational institutions in Moulvibazar and has played a significant role in expanding education in the region since its inception. The newly appointed chairman, nominated by the Board of Secondary and Higher Education, was warmly welcomed by the school’s teachers, students, and local residents.

On the occasion, teachers, guardians, and distinguished members of the community expressed their hope that under Dr. Nizam Ahmed Chowdhury’s leadership, the school’s academic activities and overall management would become more dynamic and enriched.

In his remarks, the newly appointed chairman sought the sincere cooperation of everyone in promoting the overall development of the institution, improving the quality of education, and ensuring good governance.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Nizam Ahmed Chowdhury’s late father, Moin Uddin Chowdhury, was one of the founding members of the school and served as its chairman with great distinction for many years.
