Moulvibazar district representative of Daily Jugantar, a permanent member of Moulvibazar Press Club and president of Campaign for Media Freedom, journalist Hussain Ahmed, and 3 organizations including Jugantar Swajan Rally have organized a human chain and protest rally to protest the terrorist attack and demand exemplary punishment of the attackers.
On Tuesday (November 1) morning at Moulvibazar Press Club premises, people from different classes and professions participated in the Jugantor Swajan Somabesh, Campaign for Media Freedom and Cyber Safety First Bangladesh.
Moulvibazar District President of Jugantor Swajan Somabesh Under the chairmanship of Jasim Uddin and management of General Secretary Ahmadur Rahman Imran, the former Central Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Journalists Association Senior Journalist Syed Ruhul Amin, Senior Journalist Azadur Rahman, Chairman of Sheikh Burhan Uddin Society M Muhibur Rahman Muhib, Vice President of Kulaura Welfare Association, Golam Mawla Ahad, poet Badrul Alam Chowdhury Sufi, poet and journalist Jabed Bhuiyan, Vice President of Campaign for Media Freedom Ashraf Ali, Secretary Md Forhad Hussain, Organizing Secretary Omar Faruk Naim, Bangladesh Jatiya Samaj District President Abdal Hussain, Office Secretary Kamran Ahmad, General Secretary of Online Press Club Moshahid Ahmad, UP Member Masumur Rahman, Shah Md Rajon Ali, District Correspondent of Amar Paper Muktadir Hossain, Cyber Safety First Bangladesh Field Officer Abdus Salam, Saiful Alam, Amirun Nesha Alo, Journalist Hussain Ahmad’s sister Salima Begum, Mamunur Rahman Chowdhury and others addressed the protest rally.
The speakers said that Hussain Ahmed had reported against the corruption of various projects in Moulvibazar. Terrorists ambushed him while writing against corruption. He has done numerous reports against injustice, corruption, against drugs. For which he was attacked.
Speakers also said, “The pen cannot be stopped by attacking and prosecuting journalists, rather it becomes more dangerous. The accused should be identified and arrested and brought under trial.”
