Mohammad Jakaria Hossain Imon, a native of Moulvibazar, has been appointed Central Organizer of Jatiya Juboshokti (National Youth Power).
The full central committee of Jatiya Juboshokti was officially announced on Saturday, May 18. Jakaria Imon hails from Taharlamu village in Ward 8 of Mansurnagar Union, Rajnagar Upazila, in Moulvibazar district. He completed his primary education at the local village school and was later admitted to the renowned Rajnagar D.S. Fazil Madrasa. There, he passed Dakhil (SSC) in 2017, Alim (HSC) in 2019, and Fazil (Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies) in 2022. Alongside his religious studies, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in English at Moulvibazar Government College under the National University.
Having grown up with a strong foundation in religious education, Imon held leadership roles at various levels in Talimi Jamiat Talimiyah Islamia, a non-political Islamic student organization.
During different phases of the Awami League government’s tenure, he consistently raised his voice against injustices through his writings on social media. Notably, in July 2024, he played a leading role as a coordinator in the anti-discrimination student movement advocating for quota reform.
For the past nine months, he has been actively involved—first through the anti-discrimination student movement, and later under the banner of the National Citizen Party (NCP).
It is worth noting that on May 16, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party, Jatiya Juboshokti, was officially launched at Shaheed Abrar Fahad Avenue in Gulistan, Dhaka. Leaders and activists from various districts across the country participated in the event with rallies and processions.
