Jamaat Assistant secretary general calls party most persecuted in Bangladesh

Advocate Muazzem Hossain Helal, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has stated that the Jamaat is the most persecuted and oppressed political party in Bangladesh.

He highlighted the importance of everyone remaining attentive in order to prevent fascism from resurging. As a result, everyone should work with the interim government on the impending reform initiatives.

Helal stated that the Jamaat-e-Islami is constantly working to construct a welfare state for people of all religions.

He delivered these remarks as the primary guest at an exchange of views meeting with media on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at the Kirtankhola Auditorium in Barisal.

The event was presided over by Jamaat Barisal Metropolitan Ameer Principal Zahir Uddin Muhammad Babar, while Principal Aminul Islam Khosru, head of the media wing for Barisal city Jamaat, conducted the program.

The meeting was addressed by several individuals, including Professor Abdul Jabbar, Maulana Habibur Rahman, Mizanur Rahman, Anwar Hossain, and Shamim Kabir from Jamaat. SM Zakir Hossain, Secretary of Barisal Press Club, also spoke. Additionally, Nazrul Biswas, Khalid Saifullah, Pulak Chatterjee, Shaheen Hasan, and other journalists from various print and electronic media actively participated in the event.
