President Ziaur Rahman Was the Pioneer of Reforms in Bangladesh

Barrister M. Liakot Ali, Legal Affairs Secretary of the UK BNP, has said, “The dictator has fled, but the conspiracy has not ended. Today, the most frequently mentioned word in Bangladesh is ‘reform.’ The pioneer of reform in Bangladesh was Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who began the process with his 19-point program. He freed Bangladesh from the ghost of BAKSAL and was the founder of multi-party democracy.”

He made these remarks on Saturday (October 25) afternoon while speaking to journalists in front of the VIP Gate of Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

He further stated, “Later, the leader of the nation, Begum Khaleda Zia, introduced the parliamentary system of government in Bangladesh in 1991. In 1996, she established the caretaker government system. Begum Khaleda Zia also announced Vision 2030. Following in her footsteps, on July 13, 2023, the hero of the movement to restore democracy and Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Mr. Tarique Rahman, announced a 30-point state reform agenda. Finally, I would like to say—the waiting period is over. Our beloved leader is coming to Bangladesh next month.”

Among those present were: Md. Shawkat Ali, Chief Adviser of the Barrister M. Liakot Ali Foundation; Coordinator Foysal Ahmed, Aziz Miah, Murshed Munna, Harun ur Rashid, Akmal Hossain, Jasim Uddin, Abul Hossain, Member of the BNP Sadar Upazila Convening Committee, Sajlu Mia, Member of Moulvibazar District Krishak Dal,  Abul Bashar Sumon, Sports and Drama Secretary Alaudin, BNP leader Ruhel Shikder, SecchaSebakDal leader Shahed Ahmed;, Jubo Dal leader Suman Ahmed; Abdul Hamid Pintu; Sheful Ahmed; and District Chhatra Dal Vice President Sayed Miah, among others.
