Rajnagar school girl attempted to rape; accusation of killing her brother!

A case has been filed at the Rajnagar Police Station on the charges of attempted rape and murder of the victim’s brother in Medinimahal village of Munsibazar union in Rajnagar upazila of Moulvibazar.

Tuesday (July 19) at 5 pm, the victim’s mother filed the case against Khalad Ahmed Saju (27), son of local Abdul Ahed, as the plaintiff at Rajnagar Police Station.

According to the statement of the case, when the plaintiff Jahanara Begum’s school-going daughter (16) stayed alone at home on Monday (July 18), the accused came and tried to rape the plaintiff’s daughter at approximately 4 o’clock in the afternoon. At that moment, when the victim screamed, his brother Shaheen Ahmed (20) came running and stopped the accused. Then Khalad hit Shaheen on the head with a stick and ran away. Later, when Shaheen was taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.

Jahanara Begum, the mother of the schoolgirl said, “I want death penalty for the accused Khalad who killed my son and tried to rape my daughter.”

Abdul Halim, Sub-Inspector of Rajnagar Police Station and investigating officer of the case, said, ” A case has been registered against Khalad under the Prevention of Torture against Women and Children Act 2000 (Amended 9 (4) b of 2003), Case No-347, dated 19/07/2022. I initially believed this incident to be true during the site visit. However, a little deeper investigation will state it as truth.”

Binay Bhushan Roy, officer-in-charge of Rajnagar Police Station, said that the victim’s mother appeared at the police station and filed a written complaint, a regular case was registered under the relevant section. Initially, the truth of the incident has been found, efforts were underway to arrest the accused.

He also said that there was a case of drug dealing in the name of the accused. He was absconding since the case was filed. He also requested everyone’s cooperation to arrest the accused.
